Ok, so where have I been? Been lazy, spending time with the family and working.
No, it couldn't possibly have anything at all to do with getting completely immersed in all things 'Twilight'. Darn you Stephenie Meyer, darn you.
I tried SO hard to avoid it - I really don't like to jump on the bandwagon of the 'popular' thing to do. So there I was in Melbourne, with two free in-house movies up my sleeve and wanting to rest while Miss M 3.0 was having a nap.
'Twilight' comes up as an option. 'Why not?' I think to myself. Next thing I know, I'm completely addicted, I've bought the first book in the series, purchased the second book the following day (third & fourth were purchased by my doting hubby) and now I can't seem to stop reading the darned things.
And now that I've discovered our 'Edward', Mr Robert Pattinson himself, is a talented musician (both piano & guitar) Mr Anything But Snot is convinced he is one of the two males on the planet I would leave him for in a heartbeat.
P.S - I am NOT a nerd for going to five separate stores in order to track down the CD for the movie SCORE (as opposed to the soundtrack which clueless store persons kept directing me towards).

RIP so many Aussies :(
I know it's been ages since I've blogged, I've shamelessly been enjoying having Mr Anything-But-Snot back home with us.
There are so many things I could catch you up on, but tonight I just want to say that our thoughts and prayers go out to the many, MANY families in Australia right now who have been affected by the severe bushfires in Victoria in particular. So many people have lost their belongings, their homes, their beloved pets and worst yet, famiy and friends.
I just don't know what else to say. It's all so horrifying and I know that I'm so lucky tonight to be able to hug my husband & daughter tight and be glad for all we have.

My Resolutions for 2009...:)
So here they are:
1. To get into shape. I know we ALL say this, but I really do want to drop a few kilos/pounds. More than anything though, I want to be fit again and I think the weight will happen in time with getting back into dancing :)
2. To enjoy the simple things. I want to get back to waking up in the morning and being thankful for the sunshine, the green grass, for all that I have. We all get swept up too readily into a materialistic world and this year I want to focus on what I already am blessed with.
3. To not sweat the small things. Life is so much easier when you're not preoccupied with what people think of you etc. Although yesterday I might have argued that 50 minutes looking for a carpark at Garden City was not a minor thing, I got so worked up over it all. I'm going to get over it and look at the bigger picture. :)
What are your resolutions for 2009!?

Settling back in
Well by now everyone is aware that we cut our Sydney sojourn short and decided to relocate back to sunny old Queensland. It just wasn't for us, none of our little family were particular healthy down there (both in the physical and the mental sense) and the whole economic instability didn't do anything to help the matter.
So here we are, back in Brissie which until today was exceptionally hot. As in, the car thermometer registered 46 DEGREES outside at about 2pm this past Wednesday. Today was bleak and rainy, and most of all cool which was just lovely :)
I have nothing particularly interesting to post, just that J is still in Sydney getting everything packed and finalising the projects he's been involved in and that I return to the safety of my Brisbane office on Monday. I'm also very excited that our lovely former daycare have effectively made the room for Miss M 3.0 to return despite having no 'official' available spaces.
Well Miss M 3.0 is ready for bed so I'm off to settle her in, but HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all (albeit two days late! *L*) and here's to a fun and enjoyable 2009. :)

Computer illiterate?
You know, with some basic HTML programming background and a IT guru husband to boot, I honestly thought blogging wouldn't be much of a challenge (well past finding the motivation to actually post, and the intelligence to come up with something half interesting to write about).
*cue fail buzzers* I really do suck at this...even when there is a basic template to use. *LMAO*
FAILBLOG.

Back home... :)
Well, we're here. Mostly. J is still back in Sydney (flew back Boxing Day) but Miss M 3.0 *L* and I are safely back in Brisbane. Given that we were keeping our residency a secret from family members I wasn't able to announce it prior to now, but we're happy to be home.
It was a very long 5 months in Sydney and it wasn't for us - but Miss M 3.0 is very happy to be back home with HER Papa & Grandma. I've barely seen her in the past few days - she's so absorbed in following her Papa around the garden, chattering to the birds at the feeder, watering the plants, watching him trim the hedges. If she's not there, she's lounging in the flat watching Diego or Dora the Explorer on the TV. Mummy only has one use - kisses when Miss M 3.0 is sick or has hurt herself.
I'm very late in this but we truly hope everybody has been having a wonderful holiday season so far. Tomorrow we welcome our 'country' rellies who are travelling down on Crazy Sisters' birthday (muahahahaa, dobbed you in!) with their children and dog in tow. Should be fun :)
Happy Birthday for tomorrow Crazy Sister:
